This is a truly beautiful piece of Belleek. The Shamrock design is really suited to the shape of the sugar bowl. One of the best features of the bowl is in the detail of the basket weave texture, which is actually based on the real life woven baskets made by Michael Maguire. Because of the rounded shape and the two little handles, one on each side, it is very similar to a hand woven basket.

The shamrocks have been lovingly painted on to great effect, perfectly complimenting the weave texture on which they grow. Light green coloured stems connect the handle to the shamrocks as they spread out around the body of the sugar bowl. The lid features a smaller basket weave than the body, this also creates the effect of it being lifelike. It is 2.25in wide at the widest point and has four individually hand painted green shamrocks growing out from the raised handle. As with the handles throughout the Shamrock range, it is painted in a combination of earthy greens and browns.
