The Shamrock Gaelic Coffee Mug is very different to the average coffee mug. Handpainted and hand crafted in Ireland, you will be amazed at the attention to detail on this mug. Around the body of the mug extends the fine texture of a traditional Irish basket weave. This design has it's roots in the hand crafted basketry of Michael Maguire, the man who later took his skills in basket making to Belleek and using them in the Shamrock collection. The glaze covering the mug is very smooth to the touth, almost like a satin finish. This helps to make the mug feel very much at home when being handled. As with much of the Shamrock collection, the handle is beautifully decorated in a mutually complimenting green and brown hue. This of colour helps to make the handle take on the look of a small flower stem out of which the shamrocks sprout. There are 8 hand painted shamrocks on each mugs, all of which are quite clearly painted by hand because of the individual green brush strokes. Belleek have designed the mug to be held either by the handle or in the palm of the hand. It measures 4in tall and 2.5in in diameter. This is altogether a perfect match of size and design. The Gaelic Coffee Mug has been hand crafted from start to finish according to a design which is still going strong after 100 years. This is a genuine Irish product, made on the banks of the River Erne in County Fermanagh.
