The Shamrock Dinner Plate is an example of the high standards in workmanship at the Belleek Pottery. It fits in perfectly with the other pieces in the Shamrock collection, meaning you can easily add to your existing collection. After over 100 years the Shamrock pattern is still going strong and remains true to it's original design, inspired by the basketry skills of Michael Maguire. You will notice the basket weave texture in a 1.5" band around the rim of the plate. This gives the effect of greater depth and helps to differentiate the rim of the plate from the center. In turn this will only highlight the presentation of your meal, and as we all know, presentation is king! The basket weave is complimented by a decoration of Irish shamrocks. As you can see in the picture, there are 3 bunches of 4 shamrocks which have been hand painted onto the dinner plate. Combined with the intricate basket weave, the dinner plate looks elegant and more than suitable for display. This plate measures 11.25in in diameter and is made by hand from start to finish. |
